Affiliate & Advertising Disclosure

Herb & Hollow costs nothing to read. Keeping it that way takes a few sources of income, and you should be able to see each one clearly.
Amazon
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
When a guide links to a planter, a bag of potting mix or a grow light on Amazon and you buy through that link, Amazon pays Herb & Hollow a modest commission. You pay the same price you would otherwise. Amazon may also credit us for other things you purchase during that visit.
Seed companies and garden retailers
We may also join affiliate programs offered by seed companies, nurseries and garden supply retailers, directly or through affiliate networks. These links work in the same way: if you buy through one, the retailer may pay us a share of the sale at no additional cost to you. Guides with affiliate links include a short note near the top, and product lists are marked.
How we choose what to recommend
A tool or seed variety earns a place in our guides because it suits small spaces, holds up to the job and offers fair value, not because of what it pays. We happily recommend things we can't earn from, such as a free seed library, a hand-me-down pot or a homemade fix, when they're the better answer. Our product recommendations are based on research of public product information, specifications and reviews. We don't claim to have tested a product unless the guide states that we have.
Display advertising
Third-party ad partners place display ads on Herb & Hollow. We don't select individual ads, and their presence isn't an endorsement. If an ad seems misleading, particularly one making health claims about herbs or supplements, please send us the page and a screenshot at [email protected] so we can report it.
Our own planners and journals
Herb & Hollow creates and sells its own printables, such as garden planners, herb journals and seed-starting calendars, and offers some of them free when you join our email list. When a guide mentions one, it's ours, and the income from it is ours too. We'll always make that clear.
Sponsorships and samples
We do not currently publish sponsored content or accept free products for review. If that changes, sponsored articles will be clearly labeled at the top, gifted items will be identified, and sponsors will not approve or edit what we write.
Why this page exists
The U.S. Federal Trade Commission asks publishers to disclose financial relationships with the companies they mention. We'd want to tell you regardless.
