Gardeners share generously: seeds, cuttings, advice. Photographs are different. They belong to the people who made them, and we treat them that way.

How Herb & Hollow sources its images

AI illustrations. Most garden, herb and apothecary images on the site are generated with AI image tools from prompts our team writes, then reviewed and chosen by an editor. They are labeled as AI-generated where relevant, and they are illustrations, not plant identification references. Our AI policy has more.

Product images. Pictures of seeds, tools, planters and grow lights in product lists may be provided by retailers through their affiliate programs, such as Amazon's, or by manufacturers, and are used under those terms.

Licensed photographs. Occasionally we license photos from stock libraries and use them within the license terms.

Our own designs. Pin graphics, charts, planting calendars and printable previews are created by our team.

Reader garden photos. We publish these only with written permission, credited as the gardener prefers.

We do not take photos from Instagram, Pinterest, forums or other blogs and republish them. If we'd like to feature another gardener's image, we ask first or use an official embed, and we credit them.

Disputing a removal

A note on false claims
